Origins of the Future - Paris Design Week 2016

A window into the contemporary world of Cassina.
During Paris Design Week 2016, the Cassina Paris Showroom presents “Origins of the Future”: a pure and modern installation which takes inspiration from an art gallery, where the brand’s classics are mixed together with the new collection.
“Origins of the Future” is a reflection on the future of Cassina. In the lead up to its 90th anniversary which will be celebrated in 2017, the company is looking ahead to construct the next 90 years of design culture and heritage.

The 2016 Collection.
The installation “Origins of the Future” creates a futuristic atmosphere for the Parisian showroom.
Back-lighted panels that can be seen from the store’s windows feature pastel shades to give the impression of movement.
Among the novelties of the 2016 Collection, visitors can discover the Gender armchair by Patricia Urquiola, Props, a series of abstract architectural accessories by Konstantin Grcic, the limited edition of the Utrecht armchair by Gerrit T. Rietveld with the innovative Boxblocks fabric by the artist Bertjan Pot, and the Ico chair by Ora Ito.
Deadline, the new series of mirrors by Ron Gilad, hang on the walls of the store; the 7 exhibited pieces not only reflect their own shadow but also the details of the surrounding new products at the same time, bringing the duplicated graphics to life.
