The installation Day Off / A Green Retreat for Outdoor Living by Diego Grandi exhibited at the Cersaie 2015 trade fair, is a cross-cultural project which takes inspiration from Le Corbusier and the Cabanon, his summer home on the French Riviera.
Day Off is a housing project which questions the relationship between man and nature and is characterised by a style of living based on essentiality and beauty.
Within the 250m2 area, a selection of Cassina products were on show including some of the most celebrated icons from the LC Collection by Le Corbusier, Jeanneret and Perriand (the LC7 small swivel armchair, the LC8 stool and the LC10-P table), as well as the LC14 Tabouret in solid chestnut and oak by just Le Corbusier.
Also on show were the Refolo bench and the Tokyo Outdoor chaise-longue from the Charlotte Perriand collection that, like the Tabouret, after years of experimenting with tubular metal, express the author’s artistic maturity in rediscovering nature and, at the same time, the consolidated patrimony and expertise of Cassina’s carpentry workshop, still today at the heart of the company.
