Cassina unveils a special edition of the Zig Zag chair for the exhibit ‘Paris!’ at the Bon Marché Rive Gauche.
2nd September - 15 October, 2016.
A limited edition, homage to the Parisian culture.
The iconic Zig Zag chair by Gerrit T. Rietveld, produced exclusively by Cassina since 1973, is presented with a new look for the exhibit ‘Paris!’ at the Bon Marché Rive Gauche in honour of the French capital.
For the exhibit Cassina has studied this historical design icon in an original version inspired by the river Seine, emblem of the Ville Lumière, from where it starts in Langer and leads to Le Harve. The natural currents and reflections of the water are reproduced on the chair’s surface, in blue or in black, with a pattern that clearly references the optical art of the 70’s.
Unique authenticity: a MedaMade production.
The Zig Zag chair is MedaMade : this is a deposited trademark which highlights the importance of Cassina's local production and is a guarantee of the brand’s quality.
The chair is produced with a sophisticated work method in the company’s carpentry workshop: the panels, for example, are skilfully united together with dove-tail joints to ensure further durability.
In addition to the traditional varnished cherry-wood version, the Zig Zag chair is also available in ash-wood with either a natural finish or an open pore varnish in blue, red, yellow, black and white for the surfaces and natural ash for the side sections, further highlighting the distinction between the backrest, seat, support and base.
