Cassina has opened a new 100m2 area in the centre of Turin with its local partner Ferrero. The Cassina space is located on the ground floor of the antique Casa delle Colonne building, designed by the architect Alessandro Antonelli in 1853, and has six windows and a separate entrance. At the same time, the Pinacoteca Agnelli hosts the exhibit ‘Martino Gamper: design is a state of mind’, a collection of objects from the 30’s which recount the history of design and their impact on our lives. Two exceptional bookshelves from the Cassina collections are exhibited here, the Veliero by Franco Albini – an audacious challenge to the laws of physics brought back to life in 2011 thanks to the intense research carried out by Cassina – and the Nuvola Rossa by Vico Magistretti. Important projects for Italian furniture design that can now be purchased at Ferrero’s Cassina area.
