For the first time, Cassina Contract and Daniel Libeskind present their fruitful partnership for the furnishing of the lobbies of the new residential buildings designed by Libeskind for CityLife to a public of architects and journalists.In fact, Daniel Libeskind is the prestigious architect of Residenze Libeskind, the five-building urban complex in the CityLife district, a project that is the very epitome of his style in terms of both architectural design and the close attention paid to the details of the customised furnishings produced by Cassina Contract for the common areas. All of the architect's experience can be seen in this project: the quality of the materials and the architectural features, as well as the systems chosen and the construction details, have been expertly combined to produce a luxurious and highly efficient residential complex that is perfectly integrated in the surrounding area.The stylistic approach taken for the exterior is complemented by the design of the common areas which includes five doorways, distributed over two levels. The relationship between Daniel Libeskind's Milan design studio and Cassina Contract goes back several years and the work they have carried out together has always taken the form of a partnership.Cassina Contract provided a turnkey service, closely adhering to the philosophy of the architect to give form to each of his conceptions of the space. Each piece of furniture was specifically designed to mirror the lines and the general concept of the architectural project: bespoke counters stand out like many-sided monoliths at the entrance to each building, geometric metal flower pot holders embellish the scenery. Meanwhile, historic pieces from the Cassina I Maestri Collection, such as the sofas and side tables by Le Courbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, and the Accordo rug by Perriand, complete the interior design to create a welcoming and elegant space. A complex arranged according to the classic courtyard model, segmented and put back together to create an open plan that creates a harmonious relationship between each of the buildings and between the buildings and the surrounding environment. Each building is unique and inimitable and all of the apartments are different in terms of size, orientation and plan. The Residences, part of the CityLife project, are located in via Spinola and look out onto the old town on one side and the new public park on the other.
