Developed for the outdoors in collaboration with Dordoni Studio based on the original design from 2008, Eloro Outdoor retains the identity of the system designed by Rodolfo Dordoni, while updating materials, dimensions, and construction details. In addition to the two- or three-seat stand-alone versions, the sofa is also available in various modular configurations to meet the needs of open-air living without sacrificing formal elegance.
The natural iroko expresses the excellence of Cassina’s carpentry workshop, maintaining the sophisticated details of fine cabinetmaking found in the indoor version. The outline of the legs and the geometric composition of triangles and diagonals define an elegant and recognisable architecture.
The generous cushions provide immediate and enveloping comfort. The backrest cushions are secured to a panel made of an innovative material that echoes the aesthetics of the original saddle leather, reinterpreted for outdoor use in a waterproof and UV-resistant version, in Cognac colour with ton-on-ton stitching. With a view to sustainability, the system can be completely disassembled and employs padding made with recycled materials.
Consistent use of the protective covers, available for separate purchase, helps to preserve the aesthetic and functional features of the outdoor product.
However, it is advisable to place products intended for outdoor use in controlled environments such as porches and covered or partially covered terraces, avoiding full exposure to sunlight and weather conditions.
Cassina chooses not to surface treat its outdoor wood products in order to accentuate the wood’s natural beauty. Exposure to weather conditions can cause surface oxidation, leading to the formation of a patina. This can be removed with specific treatments.
