“The chair is resilient, elastic, and so light it doesn’t encumber space with its mass. It was the closest I came to a pure and precise kind of chair.” (The Design Art of Nicos Zographos, Peter Bradford, Monacelli Press, 2000).
This is how Nicos Zographos describes CH66: a chair so essential that it is purely functional, yet so ambitious that it reduces the structure to a continuous line of tubular steel.
Profoundly inspired by the Bauhaus movement, this design draws upon the typical cantilever chair and creates a double curve between the backrest and the seat, outlining a profile that appears almost suspended in space.
The result is a rigorous, elegant piece, defined by clean geometries, materials of the highest quality, and precise details. Part of the MoMA permanent collection in New York, the chair is revived in the Karakter x Cassina collection thanks to an in-depth study conducted in collaboration with his daughters, Athena and Fotini Zographos, providing a versatile solution suitable for both residential and contract environments.
