SOFTNESS AND RIGOUR IN BALANCE

Out of the balance between enveloping shapes and thin materials, softness and rigour, a single-legged armchair with completely removable upholstery is born. Thanks to the deep, padded seat, Plintea embraces the body in a hug. Whether stationary or swivel, the base is asymmetrical, projected forward and completely upholstered. Versatile and eclectic, it is perfect for the home as an office or dining chair, but also for use in hospitality and contract projects.

PRODUCTION YEAR

2026

Out of the balance between enveloping shapes and thin materials, softness and rigour, a single-legged armchair with completely removable upholstery is born.

The second project by Chiara Andreatti for Cassina, Plintea combines – in a sculptural form – a deep, enveloping seat with a backrest made from a single, seamless piece, and a monolithic, asymmetrical, inclined base.

The uniqueness of the design – with its carefully calibrated proportions and weight to ensure comfort and practicality – is further elevated by its unique upholstery, tailored like a garment and removable thanks to a zipper located at the back of the base. To accentuate its versatility and contemporary character, the armchair is available in a wide selection of fabrics and leathers from the Cassina collections.
