The balance between form and function is informed by an in-depth study of human posture and use of the Modulor, a system based on typical human body sizes, and on a mathematical language tied to the proportions of universal harmony.

The separation between the metal frame and the cushions is consistent with the principles of Rationalism ‒ the separation into parts, in keeping with industrial manufacturing methods. The Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modèle armchair rounds out the Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modèle family. 

Upholstery

Fabric or leather.  

Cushion padding

Variable density polyurethane foam. Resin treated polyester fiber batting laminated to fabric lining or goose down in the feather version. 

Structure

Frame in tubular steel. Finishes: polished chrome, or painted in LC colors: black, grey, light blue, mud, green, ivory or brown.
