Florian is the only low table designed by Carlo Scarpa for the SimonCollezione. The architect’s original design was keyed on a large rectangular table-top, which was perfectly suited to the very large sitting rooms typical of the 1970s. Named after the café in Piazza San Marco in Venice, which was a favourite haunt of Scarpa’s, this table was included in the Ultrarazionale collection and is now also available with the elongated circular top known as the Elistella. The complex frame is composed of a base, in satin-finish steel, crafted from very wide, flat profiles that provide a powerful architectural look. This is an essential part of the table, while the refined mechanism that supports the table-top can be seen through the glass.
