Cassina relaunches the Mex project and takes it a step up with particular attention to the environment

Mex takes a step up towards comfort and versatility

Following the great success of Mex Cube designed by Piero Lissoni in 2007, the collection expands to host the same model in a high versionMex-Hi is a versatile modular system that adapts to different spaces thanks to the variety of elements and configurations available. Its large volumes are defined by soft, extremely comfortable padding, like the Mex Cube, all raised from the ground thanks to a simple yet sophisticated metal structure.

Infinite combinations

Dynamic and creative, Mex-Hi is open to multiple interpretations and uses. The project consists of five different sized bases on which independent cushions are fixed - armrests, backrests and seats - to allow the creation of corner, inline or island compositions.

A project by Cassina LAB

Thanks to the study carried out by Cassina LAB, a collaboration between the Cassina Research and Development Centre and at the Milan Polytechnic, a 100% recycled fibre, made from PET mainly recovered from the sea, has been incorporated in the cushion padding of Mex-Hi in respect of the environment, making it even more comfortable.

This research is part of a more in-depth project that expresses the company's desire to identify alternative

materials to be adopted in the development of its products as well as to promote the general well-being of its users.

A complete offer

A large pouf/ table with the same structure as the sofa completes the proposal. It has a thin seat cushion that can be combined with a marble surface or wooden trays to make it an even more practical accessory. A freestanding coffee table is also available with the same finishes for both the structure and the top.

The result is a harmonious picture of variations on the same theme, where each form is studied in detail to trace the individual gestures of everyday life and reproduce forms of sociability and the rhythm of conversation.
