PRODUCTION YEAR

2024

Originally a sofa designed by Carlo Scarpa in 1973, Cornaro celebrates the graceful encounter of two opposites: on one hand, the geometric rigour of the base that embraces the seat, on the other, the generous padding in the seat cushions set within a sculptural wooden frame.

The balance of contrasting shapes defines an armchair in which every detail was meticulously curated to highlight the original aesthetic of the model, like the exposed thin black saddle leather laces contained inside a grommet developed to simplify connecting the backrest to the structure.

Cornaro is also available as a sofa and a two- or three-seat end element. The proportions have been updated, increasing their height and depth, through in-depth research and development work carried out in close collaboration with Tobia Scarpa.
