Peacock Chair Outdoor

One of the earliest designs by the Danish designer Verner Panton, the Peacock Chair was created in 1959 as a radical departure from traditional wooden furniture.

Using a lightweight, almost impalpable steel wire mesh, Panton created an armchair that is as minimalist as it is original, comprising a truncated cone base and a cushioned shell, which, when placed on the floor, can be used as a rocking chair.

Playful and versatile, the Peacock Chair immediately became a symbol of experimentation and avant-garde design. To mark the centenary of its designer’s birth, in 2026 it will be reissued for the Karakter x Cassina collection in both indoor and outdoor versions, faithfully following the original designs.
