iMaestri

Since 1973, Cassina has established a unique method of reinterpreting the great classic designs through valorisation of their authenticity and culture, giving rise to the emblematic Cassina iMaestri Collection. Officially introduced 50 years ago, this collection had its origins in a process begun in 1965 with the mass production of the first four models designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. Over time, the collection has amassed some of the most iconic pieces of 20th century furniture with works by Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Erik Gunnar Asplund, Charlotte Perriand, Franco Albini, Le Corbusier, Marco Zanuso, Ico Parisi and Giacomo Balla. In 2023, for its 50th anniversary, the Cassina iMaestri Collection was expanded to welcome new authors who have written design history and, as a result, have gained rightful entry to this circle: Vico Magistretti, Gio Ponti, Carlo Scarpa – already included in the Cassina portfolio – and, in anticipation of the launch of their lighting collection in 2024, Charles and Ray Eames.
