Hand-moulded saddle leather in the shape of a table
The design approach that in 1977 led Mario Bellini and Cassina to clad the structure of a chair in saddle leather – in the manner of a bespoke suit, breathing life into the iconic Cab – prompted the great architect and the Meda-based company to extend the same aesthetic language to the creation of an elegant, sophisticated table.

Cab Tab highlights the expertise of the company’s artisans in the lengthy, intricate processing of saddle leather. The various parts, cut with a CNC machine and then worked by hand, are sewn to create a piece of upholstery that is masterfully hand-moulded to the metal skeleton of the table.

The table is embellished with saddlery top-stitching visible in the junctures between the parts. The upholstery is closed with zippers along the inside of each leg, like a custom-made suit.
