PRODUCTION YEAR

2026

Among the first projects by Danish designer Verner Panton, the Peacock Chair was born in 1959 as a piece intended to break away from traditional wooden craftsmanship.

Using a lightweight, almost imperceptible steel wire mesh, Panton creates an armchair that is both essential and original, consisting of a truncated conical base and a shell with cushions.

When removed from the base, the shell can become a rocking chair. Playful and versatile, the Peacock Chair quickly became a symbol of experimentation and avant-garde design. Marking the centenary of the birth of the Danish architect and designer, in 2026 the Peacock Chair is reissued for the Karakter x Cassina collection, faithfully following the original designs. Verner Panton's innovative vision is translated into a unique and radically contemporary architectural object whose futuristic soul is defined by transparency, industrial production, and the pop colours of the cushions.
