BALANCED FORMS

Part of the Principal series designed by Bodil Kjær in 1961, the Principal Stool is characterised by the formal balance that defines the entire collection. The curves of the seat soften the linear geometry of the structure, while its versatility makes it suitable for a variety of contexts.

PRODUCTION YEAR

2025

Bodil Kjær, one of the last living pioneers of mid-century Scandinavian design and a female trailblazer in the field of architecture of her time, created her Principal series in 1961 as part of an architectural exploration of interior solutions for modern living, called Elements of Architecture.

Comprising an upholstered chair a bar chair and a counter chair, the Principal series embodies Kjær's cosmopolitan and forward-thinking vision and her modernist design language that fits seamlessly into contemporary interiors.

The dining chair, with its circular seat and gently rounded backrest, beautifully upholstered, adds softness to the clear, linear geometry, inviting you to pause for a moment. The Principal Stool completes the family, drawing inspiration from the chair and echoing the distinctive formal balance of the entire collection.
