The solid wood coffee table by Charlotte Perriand grew out of the emotion the author felt upon seeing a massive, precariously balanced rock. Hence, the inspiration for the thick top and the concave edge to lend the design piece a bold aesthetic signature and an undeniable sensation of lightness.
