‘THE CASSINA PERSPECTIVE’ GOES TO ISETAN

Cassina partners with Isetan to showcase its iconic collection in an unprecedented display that is protagonist of both the windows and a dedicated corner of the department store located in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

This project further represents the company’s consolidated positioning in Japan where it has been present with Cassina ixc. for more than 30 years.

In a narration that celebrates the uniqueness of the collection, each window puts the spotlight on a single product in a spectacular layout that enhances their singular features. From the 4 Chaise longue à réglage continu, durable by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand to the Soriana armchair by Afra and Tobia Scarpa, the brand’s icons dominate the scene and the signature traits of some of the designs are magnified to become their own background, like the handcrafted patterns of the Post Scriptum vases and containers by Formafantasma.

Several special issues are also featured, such as the Utrecht armchair by Gerrit T. Rietveld, available for a limited time only, which brightens up the windows with its geometric pattern and the ‘Be Radical’ version of the Capitol Complex Armchair armchairs, part of the Hommage à Pierre Jeanneret collection. Made with a special white fabric covered in an explosion of colour, this same upholstery inspired by abstract art reappears inside the store on the Soriana armchair by Afra and Tobia Scarpa and the Maralunga sofa by Vico Magistretti.

In addition, to celebrate the international launch of the book ‘Echoes, Cassina. 50 Years of iMaestri’ in March, Isetan hosts a special pop-up installation with the 4 Chaise longue à réglage continu, durable by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand, highlighting the same artwork of the cover in an invitation to discover this celebratory volume.

Finally, 'The Stage' area of the department store has also been taken over by the brand: characterisd by the typical Cassina red, it includes a selection of products that are also on show in the windows, combined with other best sellers. Here, Modern icons and projects by the most acclaimed international designers meet in a unique dialogue as an integral part of 'The Cassina Perspective'.
