The glass panes have a silver (reflective) rectangle on the front which is slightly shifted on each layer. The backside of the rectangle is lacquered in red, which is reflected by the pane on the back, creating fascinating graphical effects, which change depending on the angle you look at them. The frame can be disassembled to clean the mirrors and is made with visible joints that accentuate the expertise of the joiners.
