PRODUCTION YEAR
Charlotte Perriand designed a striking, sophisticated iconic chair made from a single piece of cut, bent and curved oak plywood whose sinuous lines are reminiscent of the Japanese tradition of origami.
The Ombra Tokyo chair was exhibited for the first time in 1953 and immediately captured everyone’s attention, thanks to its slender seat, an innovative first for the times.
