The Bureau Boomerang desk was designed by Charlotte Perriand in 1938, when she created the office furniture for Jean-Richard Bloch, intellectual, writer, co-director of the Ce Soir newspaper and founder of the French Supervisory Board for antifascist writers.

The desk owes its name to its unusual boomerang shape, designed by Perriand to seat about 10 people without anyone occupying a central position, thus putting an end to the "presidential" office archetype.

The impressively thick wood top is the focal point of the piece. The solid wood legs feature harmonious, organic lines, a recurring trait in the works of Perriand.
