In this creation by Antonio Citterio, a tubular steel base opens up into a slender, sophisticated structure upon which the fabric-upholstered padded shell rests, as if floating on air. Leather upholstery with hand-stitched legs and armrests makes this creation a perfect example of Cassina’s attention to detail.

The backrest, folded back onto the structure, produces an additional, more casual seating element, while the exposed screws on the legs, distinctive trait of the Esosoft family, allow for easy disassembly of the base. Esosoft was developed with a keen eye to sustainability, employing circular materials, like polyurethane with a percentage of polyols derived from biological sources, and recycled PET wadding in the padding, while the base can be completely disassembled.

 

STRUCTURE

Metal with elastic webbing, legs in cast aluminium mirror-polished or matte anthracite epoxy powder-coat finish, adjustable aluminium feet, mirror-polished or matte anthracite epoxy powder-coat finish.

 

BASE

Rectangular tubular metal with matte anthracite epoxy powder-coat finish; cylindrical tubular extruded aluminium, mirror-polished or matte anthracite epoxy powder-coat finish, with armrest in cylindrical tubular aluminium clad in hand-stitched leather, available in 6 colours.

PADDING

Polyurethane foam with a percentage of polyols derived from biological sources, covered in recycled PET wadding, removable fabric upholstery.
