The gerla, a basket used in fruit harvesting, with its sturdy round base, wide opening and light weight (crafted by hand and carried on the shoulders), was the starting point for the design of this welcoming armchair.
Hotte, and its pouf, is a seat with a high back and base made from hand-woven wicker through a lengthy, meticulous process that requires careful selection of materials and great manual skill.
The craftsmanship of Hotte is enriched by distinctive details, such as the knots at the ends of the armrests and along the curved backrest, as well as the vertical rattan inserts added to the willow weave, which further emphasize its handcrafted appearance.
Its supporting structure, made of rattan with bark, has the proper degree of flexibility to ensure comfort and support, while the soft upholstered cushions are covered in Voyage natural leather and enhanced by contrasting stitching that is reminiscent of and pairs seamlessly with the Somewhere El-S and Volage Ex-S Night collections by Starck.
