PRODUCTION YEAR

1965

Designed for conversation and exhibited at the Salon d’Automne in Paris in 1929 as the archetype of the modern concept of furnishings, interpreted by its authors as “household equipment”, the armchair is honoured in its 60th anniversary of production with a special edition.

The separation between the metal structure and the cushions is consistent with the principles of Rationalism, just as the separation between the parts is based on an industrial approach to production, reminiscent of the architectural relationship between the loadbearing structure and the in-fill elements. Preserving the aesthetics, features, and dimensions of the iconic model that has written its own chapter in design history, becoming an icon of global fame, 2 Fauteuil Grand Confort, petit modèle, durable, 60 is proposed in a version made with circular materials, with the tubular metal structure in three new finishes – polished red, blue or green colour with tone-on-tone coordinated upholstery in soft mohair fabric.

Their collaboration lasted through to 1937 and was extremely fruitful, especially in the field of furniture design.
